# \[Telegram] Alerts

*This guide will help you create* [*Moni Discover*](https://discover.getmoni.io/) *alerts from* @moni\_alerts\_bot *in Telegram.*

Note: When you update a group to a supergroup, the ID changes. Update it in the Alerts form on [discover.getmoni.io](http://discover.getmoni.io/). Get the updated chat ID by sending the /chat\_id command to the group.

### How to set up Telegram Channel

Create a new channel or use an old one. It's important to be an administrator of the channel.

Invite @moni\_alerts\_bot to the channel and give admin rights:

* Go to channel info
* Administrators
* Add a new administrator @moni\_alerts\_bot (only the option to post to the channel is required)

Send the **/chat\_id** command to the channel to get an ID

### How to set up a Telegram Group

* Go to group info
* Press +Add
* Add a new member to @moni\_alerts\_bot
